Welcome to the Land of Lincoln Border Collie Association or LOLBCA. Our club has been supporting working border collie activities in the mid-west for over 20 years. Our organization was formed to:
- Promote the use of herding dogs in livestock operations
- Educate and train stock owners in the use of herding dogs in their operations
- Educate herding dog owners interested in developing the natural talents and instincts of their dog
- Support other organizations with mutual interests such as Future Farmers of America, 4-H clubs etc.
- Provide a fun, sportsmanlike competition in the open field USBCHA style herding trial
We put on at least one open field trial a year in Illinois. Detailed trial information is posted under the Trials tab. Be sure to join us for the fun!
Looking forward to seeing you at our July Trail — July 6, 7, and 8, 2018!
The Board of Directors has been very busy planning our annual trial. This year, the trial will be a three day trial — Friday July 6 through Sunday July 8. We will be returning to Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. We will have three days of Open trials and three days of Nursery (same course as Pro Novice) trials, two days of Pro Novice (full drive, same course as Nursery). We will also have two Ranch runs (shortened outrun and one leg of the drive) and two Novice runs (shortened outrun and a wear).
Our judge this year is Mr Adrian Espinosa and we are very excited to have him! We will have entry information on Handlers’ Post soon. Entries will open in May.
In order for a trial to run smoothly, we needs lots of hands. Volunteer shifts will be 2.5 hours each. We will need volunteers for scribing and sheet running/posting of scores and of course for the final set up and tear down, too. Please connect with Catherine Price to volunteer to help! We need all the hands we can get.

The LOLBCA Club will host its annual meeting in conjunction with the trial. Stay tuned for more information!
