We had great weather for the three days, especially Sunday where it was partially cloudy and some even had a light jacket on in the morning. That’s normally unheard of in central Illinois in August! The courses by Bill Murray (course director) were fun and presented good working opportunities for the dogs. The second round of Open Ranch had the interesting challenge of a pen with no door and Sunday’s Open class included a 2/2 shed then to pen the 2 "kept" sheep. All the handlers had fun watching and wondering if anyone would get this seemingly impossible task. Some of the runs had us all on edge as the clock ticked down but the crowd let out a bellowing holler when Rose Anderson and Shen completed it with style. Lots of camaraderie and cheering amongst the handlers and spectators!
A great job of judging all these runs by Linda Meyer and a huge thank you to for the help by all the club members and handlers that kept us on track and finishing early each day. The set out by Wendy Peters was "spot on" each day.
